Caló des Màrmols

June 18, 2019

A yacht charter in Majorca is incredibly multi-faceted and diverse. Besides vibrant cities like Palma, you will find dreamlike bays like the Caló des Màrmols. This small bay, 45 metres wide and 30 metres long, is 14 kilometres from ses Salines and the last bay on the east coast to the west of the municipality of Santanyí. It is definitely one of the last insider tips on Majorca and therefore a must for your next yacht holiday in Majorca.

This pretty little spot can only be reached by boat or after a five kilometre long and exhausting hike from Cap de ses Salines, so you can enjoy well-deserved idyllic peace and quiet. The dreamlike landscape is still very original and unspoilt.

Its name derives from the white colour of its sand and the 20-metre-high surrounding rocks (Màrmol means marble). Depending on the weather, the water is calm, crystal clear and paradisiacal blue turquoise, making it ideal for snorkelling.

Due to its unique location, it is particularly sheltered from the wind and offers an excellent anchorage for your yacht holiday on the Balearic Islands. It is anchored at a depth of between five and three metres, 100-200 metres from the beach. Anchorage is good holding fine sand with gravel.

You should take food and drink with you to the Cala des Màrmols because there are no restaurants or shops on the isolated beach. 4.2 nautical miles away is the nearest port facility, Port de Cala Figuera of Santanyí. The Cala Figuera is for us Majorca's most beautiful fishing village with many small and very good restaurants and the ideal place to end the evening after a beautiful day at the Cala des Marmols.
